Mermaid Tails on Dromana beach

Image
One of my, and my family's favourite camping spots is in Dromana. The Big 4 Kangerong Holiday Park is great for camping in all forms. There are plenty of cabins, sites and even a beach house. It is very kid friendly with a pool, playground, games room and a large grass space. It is conveniently located across the road from the Dromana Beach which we visited often during our stay.  We arrived on Friday night and left at midday on Monday. While we were there we spent a lot of time with family at the beach house, riding our bikes along the foreshore and went to the beach. Though the water temperature was quite good  for a while, there always comes a time when it's too cold in the water. Once you get out, often you find yourself bored and freezing on the sand. But this time we discovered a fun way to warm up and have a laugh with your friends and family. When we clambered out of the water, my dad helped us  very our legs in the sand, this acted like a warm blanket that was actu

Between the Lines by Jodi Picoult and Samantha Van Leer-Book Review

Image
Recently I read the book "Between the Lines" by Jodi Picoult and Samantha Van Leer and I was totally captivated by its unique and clever concept. I highly recommend it because I devoured this book in one solid day. It was a page turner that I couldn't put down until the very last page. That's when I picked up its sequel! "Between the Lines" is about a prince in a fairytale and how every time the book is read the characters inside the book play out their roles in the reader's head. But while the book is closed, the characters in the book can do what they want. They have their own personalities and traits that may be totally different to the characters that they are playing. Prince Oliver is the clever prince in the fairytale and the reader, Delilah, falls in love with the prince who desperately yearns to get out of the story that he is tied to. But for Delilah, talking to Oliver in the book isn't ideal for her when her mum finds out and sends her

Easter Chalk Art

Image
Easter is a joyful time of the year for celebrating with family or friends. Whether you're hosting Easter lunch or not, it's great to decorate your home with some festive touches. This Easter chalk picture is so easy and effective requiring no special talent or materials. Once you're finished you can frame your picture and put it wherever you like. You can also add this technique to other types of pictures and make artwork for Christmas or Halloween. It is all so easy to do, using things from your own house, you can get started right away. You will need: -Black paper (any size will do) -White (or coloured) chalk -Scrap paper or scrap magazine -Tissues or cotton wool -Scissors -Pencil How to make it: 1. Using your scrap paper or magazine cut out your desired shape. This is the shape that the chalk will be outlining at the end. I am doing a cross for Easter which looks quite effective but you could also do fairy lights or a manger for Christmas. I would also

Creating a Cosy Reading Corner!

Image
There's nothing I like more than sitting in a quiet spot and reading for hours on end. Whether you like sitting on your couch with a blanket, in in your favourite cafe, it's great to have a creative getaway. I love sitting in a corner or on enclosed space and just getting lost in the words of a good book. I recently decided that, as much as I love sitting on my bed or the couch, I would make a cute little area in the corner of my room especially for me and my book.                                   First I cleaned my room and found the perfect corner by a window and a nice, spare chair. Making and decorating your pretty corner doesn't have to be expensive. I simply found a cute cushion and a framed quote at a garage sale for just two dollars! All I needed to do then was just replace the picture on the wall for my new one and pop the cushion on the chair. Perfect! Of course, you can put anything you want in your corner. You could add a coffee table or use a beanb
