My Favourite Music

Recently, I've been discovering new music to listen to, so I thought I might share with you some of my favourite tunes. The type of music I like are mostly acoustic songs and duets. I know that some people don't like that sort of music and that's ok, you don't have to listen to the songs I recommend. On the other hand, if you enjoy listening to similar music to me, you might find your new favourite song in this post!

Odette


Odette is an artist who I like a lot. There are two of her songs which I am really enjoying and they are both quite unique and interesting. Collide is the first song which has piano, layered voices and a cool clapping pattern underneath the vocals. The second song is Watch Me Read You which is much different to the first song. It is a rap song which I actually like. It is a more alternative style  and still has some acoustic vibes underneath it which I like. 

Billie Marten

Billie Marten is only 18 years of age and she sings quite soft songs with gentle melodies and guitar or piano background. Three of my favourite songs of hers are Out of the Black, Bird and Live. Billie marten's voice is very beautiful to listen to, making her songs very soothing.


Alessia Cara

I've been listening to Alessia for a long time now and I really like her album Know it All. Although her songs are more synthesised, the acoustic ones are my favourites such as Stars, Stone and River of Tears. I like these songs because they begin slow and then build to a strong ending, making it uplifting music.

Jess and Gabriel
 

I originally discovered Jess on Youtube and took a liking to her because she is an Aussie like me! Then I discovered her and her husband's music and fell instantly in love. They both have beautiful voices and sing lovely acoustic duet covers. They have two albums of covers, my favourite songs, being Bless the Broken Road, Can't Help Falling in Love and Little do you Know. They also recently released a worship album called Greater and I would definitely recommend giving it a listen.

I stocked up on books from the library to read over the holidays and one of the books I picked up was  A Monster Calls  by Patrick Ness. I must say that this dark and mysterious book wouldn't have been the type I would usually go for, but I was intrigued by the dramatic pictures that crept through the pages of the book. Goodreads

I am a hungry bookworm who is constantly hunting for new, delicious books to devour. Up until quite recently, I've had trouble finding the right books and good opinions on them. Since I discovered "Goodreads", an app and a website ,( https://www.goodreads.com) most of those problems have been solved.  "Goodreads" is an online site with thousands of reviews, ratings and recommendations on books. Any books can be searched and marked as "read", "to read" or "currently reading". If a book is marked as "currently reading" there is a option of entering the page number that you're on and the percentage of progress through the book will be shown. With each book comes its blurb, information on the author, a rating out of five stars based on heaps of personal ratings, and finally, many comments and reviews from other readers.  One of my favourite things about "Goodreads" is the fact that there are so many revi

The Beginning of my trip in EUROPE!

I apologise for my absence from uploading blog posts for the past few months, but it is partially due to a family holiday spent in Europe. Spread throughout this post and several other future posts, I’m going to share with you my amazing experience and recommendations from all over the continent in the cities of London, Dublin, Paris and Rome. Firstly, in London, there were so many famous landmarks and buildings to see, we didn’t run out of things to do until the end of the week. Highlights included Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace and the British Museum. I found Westminster Abbey absolutely incredible. We bought audio guides and got tickets to see inside the Abbey, it was definitely worth it. The building is very old and the architecture is amazing. On the walls and even under the floor are the burial places for the most famous people of British and European history.
