Lost and Found - Brooke Davis

A book of love, sadness and hope, Lost and Found is a very emotional story. Although the plot involves no fast paced action or gripping scenes, I did manage to read the whole thing in one afternoon (partially because it was a good book and partially because I had four hours to kill). Lost and Found is a truly adorable novel that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy at the end while providing you with a simple, easy but deep read.

Millie Bird is seven years old when she realises that everything around her is dying. She begins to record every dead thing she sees and it isn't until she gets to twenty seven that her dad becomes a dead thing too.
Agatha Pantha is eighty two and since her husband died, she has not left her house. She simply stares out her front window, yelling insults at passers-by and expressing her rage in everything she does. One day she sees a young girl across the street, very alone.
Karl the Touch Typist is eighty seven when he is admitted to a nursing home, but he can’t help but think about the young girl he saw wondering around the shops all alone. So he escapes and decides to find her and help her.

These three people meet in extremely unlikely ways and bond through sadness and love. They together create a story like no other which shows that love can be found in the strangest of places. As mentioned before, this book is not particularly exciting and fast
paced, but an enjoyable, relaxing read that you can get engrossed in. Also, the language and perspective that has been incorporated into the novel by Brooke Davis is extremely powerful and helps the reader to enter the minds of the characters being portrayed.

The final reason why I like this book is because it is set on my home soil in Australia and Brooke Davis was born and bred here too. It helps me feel a little bit more connected with the book! Thank you for reading my blog post and please check out my other book reviews here on my blog.
